The MagneticStop Option photo gallery
If you need a doorstop that not only prevents banging, protecting walls, skirtings & brickwork but also holds open the door - then look no further!
The larger Doorstopworld.com doorstops can be optionally supplied with a magnetic insert (and a paired magnet for door or gate mounting) to hold the door in the open position.
Our magnets are supplied with very strong, double sided adhesive tape to hold them in position. Many users find this more than adequate but the magnet may also be secured by screw fixing if preferred.
Note: Although the magnet will hold most doors in most conditions, it is intended for use in calm conditions only. Please be aware that the magnet may not hold the door in windier or stormy conditions. Performance will vary according to prevailing wind speed and the weight of the door.
Our magnetic options are great but please bear in mind that these are not mains powered electromagnets, they are the strongest neodymium magnets available. They're incredibly strong but please bear in mind the size, weight & windage of your door. Doorstops top & bottom are advised for anything other than a small, light door. If in doubt, ask us for advice!
Our magnets are extremely strong. Please take care when removing from the packaging and when installing. If allowed to bang together prior to installation, magnets may crack. They can also pinch fingers & cause blood blisters so please exercise common sense - they'll attract each other over a considerable distance.
Our magnets have a very tough coating applied but should you find that their appearance diminishes thanks to the ravages of our British weather then you should find that a wipe with a non-abrasive cloth (kitchen towel is ideal) and a light oil such as WD-40 is sufficient to return them to full lustre!
It's not unknown for the magnets to pick up small metal particles from the environment as they're so strong. If this happens then wiping with a cloth and some chrome cleaner or WD-40 will have them looking like new!
These neodymium magnets are extremely strong and can quickly jump together over a distance of 6" or so. Exercise extreme care as neodymium magnets are brittle and can break due to the high speeds reached.
Please check out our Fitting Instructions
• Due to packing & inherent strength of the magnetic coupling, we know that these magnets do not break in transit.
• If you break them playing with them, please admit it!
• Doorstopworld Ltd does not accept responsibility for damage that has been caused by the improper handling of magnets.
Please put magnets in a safe place once box is open. Attach to something metal to avoid breakages
